ABOUT LORI PALMERI
A Proven Leader with a Caring Heart
RAISED WITH STRONG FAMILY VALUES
Lori’s life and work experience make her uniquely qualified to serve in the Wisconsin state legislature. Born in Takoma Park, Maryland in 1967, Lori credits her compassion and grit from being raised in a working-class family. These experiences formed her values which include standing up and making government work for regular people and working families.
Her educational background has helped her advocate for people-centered public policy. She has a bachelor’s degree from University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh in Urban and Regional Studies, as well as a master’s degree in urban planning from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee.
Lori has been a resident of Oshkosh since 2008 and is married to Dr. Tony Palmeri, a
Communication Studies professor at UW Oshkosh. She has two adult children, two grandchildren, and a cat.
A PROVEN LEADER
Lori served two terms on the Common Council and two terms as Oshkosh Mayor. First elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 2022, she is now finishing her second term proudly representing the people of the 54th District.
Lori is a responsive, reliable, results-focused public servant with a solid record of accomplishments for the people and taxpayers of Oshkosh. During her time in the Wisconsin Assembly, Lori authors and champions legislation that promotes environmental protection, public health, and sustainability, particularly reducing harmful packaging, improving recycling, protecting groundwater, and replacing lead service lines.
She has also advanced economic and family-focused policies, such as student loan tax relief, alongside civil rights and democratic participation, including voting access for young people and broad equality protections.
Additionally, her record includes conservation, wildlife, and state heritage initiatives, as well as community and civic recognition resolutions, reflecting attention to both policy substance and public service values.
